Our Philosophy: Working musicians and experienced performers with a passion for music sharing the passion while training others to perform. Providing opportunities for students to rehearse their musical and performance skills under a variety of circumstances.
Performance Training: At Dawn Boudreau Music, developing performers is our ultimate goal. We start with techniques that develop the instrument. Then we build performance skills through training and performance opportunities. We believe that the only way to learn to perform is by experiencing different performance settings and discovering our own reactions to them.
Style Guidance: Another aspect of our training is helping each performer to find his or her own personal style. While encouraged to challenge one's self, the performer is guided toward songs that have a comfortable fit for their personality and ability.
Classes: Throughout the year, in preparation for the larger performances, the students will be given the opportunity to participate in group classes in addition to their individual lessons. Some of these classes focus on the development of singing in harmony or in parts. Other classes add the dimension of movement, with the help of a professional choreographer. We have found that participation in the groups enriches the performance opportunity for the student, giving them the feeling of community accomplishment and allowing them more stage time per performance.
Instruments: Voice and piano.
